Rusted Element Design is a Seattle based maker studio founded by wife and wife team, Jen and Mo. They enjoy creating quality, handmade, modern home goods that include a wide variety objects from oil candles to tea light candle holders to coasters to paper towel holders to charcuterie/amuse/cutting boards to jelewry and more. They enjoy making handmade goods for people who want to live with objects that they truly love and appreciate. They are proud of everything they make, and they are sure you will be just as proud to own their creations.
They are passionate about using materials that are sustainable, non-toxic, and eco-friendly.
A little about the team:
Jen grew up in Chicago and has been involved in a variety of arts since she was young. Through a bit of exploration during her college years, she discovered a true passion for Industrial Design and graduated with her BFA in ID. She wound up going the path of business for work, however, and was fortunate to have been given the opportunity to move to several different cities. She landed in the Seattle area to stay due to its wide variety of things to do, plentiful bodies of water (for her kayaking fun), cleanliness, pure beauty, and, most importantly, her wife. Although she still works a demanding day job, she truly enjoys getting to her enjoyable part-time job of making things. It brings such a sense of excitement and joy for her.
Mo grew up between Alaska and Washington, traveling to and fro as her dad worked in the lumber business. She has been making things with her dad since a young age and still enjoys working with him on projects on occasion. Mo received 2 degrees through her college years, one in Communications and the other in the Culinary Arts. Her biggest passion is making food, however, she simply loves making for makings sake and is a great partner to Jen in creating their small side business.
Thank you for supporting R.E.D. We are so grateful to have such great people behind us.
We are because of you.
